SCIENCE and TECHNOLOGY IN THE NEWS

Each student will be responsible for one presentation of Science and Technology in the News. I will assign each student a specific date, usually Fridays, for their time to present their findings.
Students should read an article that they are interested in that deals with a science or technology topic. They can read the newspaper, look on any news website, use search engines, or use the links to sci/tech pages on the first page of this website.
After they find an article of interest, they should read it several times in order to fully understand it.
Then, they should answer each of the questions on the SCI/TECH summary page in complete and full sentences. Their summary should be their own words.
On the student’s assigned date, he/she will present his/her findings to the class. Points will be awarded for answering the questions completely, following directions, and oral presentation.
If they miss their date, students may still submit their article and summary page, but they will be penalized by only receiving a 75% maximum grade.
